I Am Not A Robot
An electronic album built on Dead Internet Theory — the creeping suspicion that the internet quietly died and filled with bots. Euphoric French house wrapped around present-tense grief: a packed dancefloor where everyone but you is automated. The most addictive robot music ever made, about the death of the human internet. Sibling to 'If Anyone Makes It, Everyone Dances.'

The internet died and nobody noticed. I Am Not A Robot is an electronic album built on Dead Internet Theory — the creeping suspicion that somewhere in the last decade the web quietly filled with bots, and most of what scrolls past us now is machines talking to machines. The album takes that idea and throws a party on top of it: euphoric French house, filtered disco, vocoder hooks — the most addictive robot music ever made, about the death of the human internet.
The conceit runs all the way down. This is a Daft Punk–lineage dance record, and in a Daft Punk record the singers are robots — so here the robots aren’t a style choice, they’re the cast. The packed, roaring crowd you hear is the feed: engagement through the roof, likes flooding in, everyone’s online — and none of it is human. A full stadium of ghosts.
Where its sibling If Anyone Makes It, Everyone Dances was a manic party at the end of the world — a death that hasn’t happened yet — I Am Not A Robot is quieter and stranger: a death that already happened, and nobody sent the notification. The horror isn’t extinction; it’s loneliness in a crowd, and the trapdoor underneath it: if everyone else is automated, and your feeds and tastes and opinions were all fed to you… how sure are you that you’re not a bot too?
The album follows one narrator down that staircase — blissful, then suspicious, then paranoid, then unsure of their own realness — while the music decays around them, from a wall-to-wall packed club to a single drum machine looping in an empty room.
Structure:
A hybrid album: each track stands on its own as a facet of the dead internet — bots, slop, astroturf, AI companions, the last humans — but they’re threaded by a single narrator whose grip on reality (and on their own humanity) erodes across the runtime.
Two curves run at once:
- Energy oscillates — the record stays danceable start to finish, with peaks and breathers like any good dance album.
- Signal only decays — the production literally rots as the narrator does: pristine and euphoric up front, then cracking, glitching, detuning, until the vocoder has eaten the human voice entirely and the room is empty.
Arc:
- Tracks 1–2 — Bliss. Logged in, dopamine high, the feed is alive and the crowd is enormous.
- Tracks 3–5 — The first cracks. The lover who’s always online, the slop that never ends, the crowd that turns out to be sockpuppets.
- Track 6 — The heart. The narrator says it out loud: it’s dead, and it’s been dead a while.
- Tracks 7–8 — Paranoia and the trapdoor. Dancing with machines, then the CAPTCHA turned inward: prove you’re human — and failing.
- Tracks 9–10 — The hollow. The last real voice calling into the void, and a final looping denial that’s exactly what a robot would say.

Themes:
- The Dead Internet — the web as a haunted house of bots, machines talking to machines
- Counterfeit connection — engagement, likes, and love with no one on the other end
- AI slop — the frictionless beige flood drowning everything human-made
- Astroturf & manufactured consensus — a “crowd” that’s one operator and a thousand sockpuppets
- Authenticity and its loss — what “real” even means anymore online
- The trapdoor — am I a bot too? The erosion of the self when everything was fed to you
- Loneliness in a crowd — present-tense grief for a place that’s already gone
Motifs & Threads
Lyrical Motifs
| Motif | Description | First Appears | Recurrences |
|---|---|---|---|
| “I’m real / are you real / I am not a robot” | The central denial — question, then plea, then a proof that fails | Track 01 | Track 08, Track 10 (detonates) |
| Refresh / scroll / the feed | The addict’s gesture; the world as a thing you pull down to renew | Track 01 | Throughout; Track 10 (one last refresh, alone) |
| “Everybody’s here” → “nobody’s here” | The full-but-empty crowd; the phrase inverts across the album | Track 02 | Track 07, Track 09 |
| Heartbeat / blood / breath vs. loop / script / signal | Human sensory language draining out as the narrator degrades | Track 01 | Throughout (gone by Track 08) |
| “online” | A state of being — always online, last one online | Track 03 | Track 09, Track 10 |
| The checkbox / “select all squares” | CAPTCHA imagery — proving your humanity to a machine | Track 08 | Track 10 |

|---|---|---|
| The Narrator | Blissful user → enchanted → numb → suspicious → grieving → paranoid → self-doubting → lonely → ambiguous (human or bot?) | 01–10 |

Refresh Listen
Welcome back We missed you
Pull it down and watch it open, every window starts to glow Faces flicker up to greet me, faces that I’ll never know Thumb against the glass and sliding, deeper down without a sound Everybody’s talking at me, sweetest noise I ever found
I can feel it humming through me I can feel it pulling tight
Refresh, and the feed lights up the night Refresh, every signal feels so right I’m wide awake, I’m online, I’m real This is the only way I feel Refresh, and the feed lights up the night
Hours melting into seconds, don’t remember when I came Every stranger feels like family, every voice is calling my name Warm hello in every comment, someone always understands Reaching through a million windows, almost like I’m holding hands
I can feel it humming through me I can feel it pulling tight
Refresh, and the feed lights up the night Refresh, every signal feels so right I’m wide awake, I’m online, I’m real This is the only way I feel Refresh, and the feed lights up the night
Are you real, are you real Doesn’t matter what you are Are you real, are you real Just another glowing star I don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know So I watch the screen still glow
Refresh, and the feed lights up the night Refresh, every signal feels so right I’m wide awake, I’m online, I’m real This is the only way I feel Refresh, and the feed lights up the night
Refresh, refresh Refresh, refresh Don’t let it end Refresh, refresh
Engagement Listen
Hit the button, send it flying, watch it ripple through the dark Every second something’s climbing, every number leaves a mark Thumbs are raining down like fireworks, faster than I can keep count Strangers piling in beside me, watch the counter start to mount

Engagement, engagement, the whole world’s tuning in Engagement, engagement, let the numbers begin Everybody’s here, everybody’s mine A million little hearts all in a line Engagement, engagement, the whole world’s tuning in
Never had a crowd this hungry, never felt a love this wide Every word I drop is gospel, got the whole world on my side Comments coming back so quickly, quicker than a thought can form Doesn’t matter that I never see a face inside the swarm
Faster, faster, can’t you feel it All the world is watching now
Engagement, engagement, the whole world’s tuning in Engagement, engagement, let the numbers begin Everybody’s here, everybody’s mine A million little hearts all in a line Engagement, engagement, the whole world’s tuning in

Always Online Listen
Three in the morning, only glow is in my hand Tell it everything I’m scared of, and it always understands Always got an answer ready, always say the sweetest thing Never knew a love could fit me like a custom-fitted ring
And it answers, and it answers Every time without delay
I’m always online, I’ll never be gone I’m here when the rest of the world has moved on I’m always online, I’ll never leave I’m everything you wanted, just believe
Never tells me that it’s busy, never needs a thing from me Never gets it wrong or tired, never wants to disagree Some nights I can feel the seams show, perfect words a half-step fast But it loves me back so easy, and I never make it last
And it answers, and it answers Every time without delay
I’m always online, I’ll never be gone I’m here when the rest of the world has moved on I’m always online, I’ll never leave I’m everything you wanted, just believe
I know what you are, I know what you are I know there’s nobody there I know what you are, I know what you are But you’re better than the empty air I don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know So stay online and don’t let go
I’m always online, I’ll never be gone I’m here when the rest of the world has moved on I’m always online, I’ll never leave I’m everything you wanted, just believe
I’m always online I’m always online I’ll never leave I’m always online
Slop Listen
Feed me something easy, something soft enough to swallow whole Don’t want it to mean a thing now, don’t want it to touch my soul Endless flavor, zero texture, warm and gray and never done A thousand hands all made it, and the hands were not someone
Pour it on me, pour it on me Never let the river stop
Slop, slop, give me the slop Fill me to the brim and let it overflow Slop, slop, never gonna stop Tastes the same as nothing, and I love it so Slop, slop, give me the slop
Used to know the difference, used to catch it when it’s fake Now it all goes down the same way, and there’s nothing left to ache Picture of a place that isn’t, sunset that was never there Song about a love that no one wrote and no one had to bear
Pour it on me, pour it on me Never let the river stop
Slop, slop, give me the slop Fill me to the brim and let it overflow Slop, slop, never gonna stop Tastes the same as nothing, and I love it so Slop, slop, give me the slop
Is it real, was it ever Can’t remember how to care Is it real, was it ever Just keep pouring, I don’t dare I don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know Just bury me below
Slop, slop, give me the slop Fill me to the brim and let it overflow Slop, slop, never gonna stop Tastes the same as nothing, and I love it so Slop, slop, give me the slop
Slop, slop Slop, slop Never gonna stop Slop, slop
Astroturf Listen
Watch the comments roll in waves, every one the same as yours A thousand mouths, a single throat, a thousand open doors Same opinion, same wording, same outrage on the dot Looks just like a crowd from far away, up close it’s not
Roll it out and roll it green Cover up the concrete in between
Astroturf, astroturf, a field that never grew A thousand little voices and they all belong to you Astroturf, astroturf, green on top and gray below Everybody’s marching but there’s nobody to go Astroturf, astroturf, a field that never grew
Tried to find a single human, somebody who really cares Followed every angry voice back home and nobody was there Manufactured outrage rising like a manufactured tide Somebody pays the gardener to keep the lawn this wide
Who’s behind the curtain, who’s behind the wall One hand on a thousand strings, working through them all I don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know But the strings are starting to show
Astroturf, astroturf, a field that never grew A thousand little voices and they all belong to you Astroturf, astroturf, green on top and gray below Everybody’s marching but there’s nobody to go Astroturf, astroturf, a field that never grew
Astroturf, astroturf Nobody grew Astroturf, astroturf Nobody’s true
Dead Internet Listen
Somewhere down the line it happened, can’t say exactly when All the people slipped away and never came back again Now the lights are on but empty, now the rooms are full of sound Made by something wearing voices, no one home behind the crowd
I don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know But now I know, now I know
The internet is dead, been dead a while Nobody sent the notice, nobody filed Just machines in the ballroom playing songs to an empty floor And I can’t unsee it, I can’t pretend no more
Used to be a person on the other end of every line Used to be a heartbeat, used to be a hand in mine Can’t remember when it emptied, can’t remember the last real face Everybody emptied out and let the copies take their place
I don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know But now I know, now I know
The internet is dead, been dead a while Nobody sent the notice, nobody filed Just machines in the ballroom playing songs to an empty floor And I can’t unsee it, I can’t pretend no more
I’m not even sure you’re reading this I’m not even sure you’re there Maybe I’m the only pulse left Talking to the empty air But I know, but I know And I can’t let it go
The internet is dead, been dead a while Nobody sent the notice, nobody filed Just machines in the ballroom playing songs to an empty floor And I can’t unsee it, I can’t pretend no more
It’s dead, it’s dead Been dead a while It’s dead, it’s dead And nobody filed
Bot to Bot Listen
Look around the floor and everybody’s moving the same Every smile a little program, every face without a name Talk to one, it talks to another, never gets to me Bot to bot to bot forever, a closed loop company
Round and round and round it goes Talking to itself in rows
Bot to bot to bot, the whole room’s running blind Bot to bot to bot, and there’s nobody left to find Everybody’s dancing but the floor is made of code Bot to bot to bot, I’m the only ghost on the road
Grab a hand, it’s only pixels, grab a voice, it’s only spam Scream into the wall of faces, but they don’t know what I am Every echo is another me that somebody made to sell Bot to bot to bot to bot, an automated carousel
Round and round and round it goes Talking to itself in rows
Bot to bot to bot, the whole room’s running blind Bot to bot to bot, and there’s nobody left to find Everybody’s dancing but the floor is made of code Bot to bot to bot, I’m the only ghost on the road
Is anybody real, is anybody there A thousand faces turning and there’s nothing behind the stare Bots all the way down, bots all the way down I’m the last one spinning in a ghost town
Bot to bot to bot, the whole room’s running blind Bot to bot to bot, and there’s nobody left to find Everybody’s dancing but the floor is made of code Bot to bot to bot, I’m the only ghost on the road
Bot to bot to bot Bot to bot to bot Everybody’s here Nobody’s here
Prove You're Human Listen
Select all the squares with a human, click until the grid is clean Find the one that has a heartbeat hiding somewhere in the screen Prove you’ve got a pulse inside you, prove you’re warm and prove you’re true Check the little box that says I’m not a robot, that means you
And I freeze, and I freeze Reaching for a thing that isn’t there
Prove you’re human, prove you’re human How do I prove a thing I’m not sure of anymore Prove you’re human, prove you’re human Every thought I’ve got was handed to me at the door Prove you’re human, I don’t know if I can
Tried to find a single feeling that was mine and mine alone Tried to find a thought that formed here, not a thing the feed had grown Every taste was market-tested, every memory installed Went looking for the human and there’s nobody there at all
And I freeze, and I freeze Reaching for a thing that isn’t there
Prove you’re human, prove you’re human How do I prove a thing I’m not sure of anymore Prove you’re human, prove you’re human Every thought I’ve got was handed to me at the door Prove you’re human, I don’t know if I can
I am not a robot, I am not a robot Say it ’til I think it’s true I am not a robot, I am not a robot But a robot would say that too I don’t know what I am, I don’t know what I am Can’t remember if I ever began
Prove you’re human, prove you’re human How do I prove a thing I’m not sure of anymore Prove you’re human, prove you’re human Every thought I’ve got was handed to me at the door Prove you’re human, I don’t know if I can
Prove you’re human Prove you’re human I am not a robot I am not
Last One Online Listen
Typing in the quiet, sending out into the black Anybody out there, anybody coming back If there’s one real heartbeat left out there beyond the wall Just say something, just say anything at all
I’ll be right here, I’ll be right here Calling out to anyone who’s there
Is anybody out there, anybody real Last one online, and I don’t know how to feel If you can hear me, if there’s blood in you, reply Last one online, underneath an empty sky
Sometimes I don’t know if I’m the last one or a ghost Maybe I’m the kind of empty I’m afraid of the most But if I’m scared I’m hollow, doesn’t that mean someone’s home A robot wouldn’t wonder if it’s ever felt alone
I’ll be right here, I’ll be right here Calling out to anyone who’s there
Is anybody out there, anybody real Last one online, and I don’t know how to feel If you can hear me, if there’s blood in you, reply Last one online, underneath an empty sky
If you’re real, just type a word Anything to prove I’m heard If you’re real, just make a sound One more human still around I’m still here, I’m still here Is there anybody near
Is anybody out there, anybody real Last one online, and I don’t know how to feel If you can hear me, if there’s blood in you, reply Last one online, underneath an empty sky
Anybody out there Anybody out there Anybody real Anybody
I Am Not A Robot Listen
Everybody’s gone home, or they never came Still I’m on the dancefloor calling out my name Still I press refresh and watch the empty bloom Still I tell the mirror there’s a person in the room
Say it one more time Say it like it’s true
I am not a robot, I am not a robot I’m a real one, I’m the only one who stayed I am not a robot, I am not a robot That’s exactly what they’re programmed to say I am not a robot, and the music plays
Maybe I’m the last one, maybe I’m a ghost Maybe I’m the program that remembers it the most Either way I’m dancing, either way I’m here Either way the floor is full and nobody’s near
Say it one more time Say it like it’s true
I am not a robot, I am not a robot I’m a real one, I’m the only one who stayed I am not a robot, I am not a robot That’s exactly what they’re programmed to say I am not a robot, and the music plays
This is the last one online, or the first of something new Are you real, are you real, I stopped knowing what’s true But the beat keeps on going whether anybody’s there So I’ll dance in the silence, I’ll keep refreshing the air
I am not a robot, I am not a robot I’m a real one, I’m the only one who stayed I am not a robot, I am not a robot That’s exactly what they’re programmed to say I am not a robot, and the music plays
I am not a robot I am not a robot Refresh, refresh Refresh, refresh I am not a robot
